Kia Ora, This week for reading we were learning about habitats, We had to read a story about fresh water habitats and then we had to do a follow up task. For the follow up task we had to put all of the words that where taken out of the story and we put them onto a Google drawing and described what they meant, and a photo of it. Hello, today we created a poster on canva to show the things we like or our Hobby’s. We used an AI generator to create some of our images. On my poster I used AI for some of my images and the other images I didn’t. Here is mine. Do we have anything in common?
Kia Ora, this week for RE, we had to create a creative presentation. We needed to write a message or quote that people should follow. We where aloud to do it digitally or visually. I chose to do it visually and decorate it. My message was: No matter how much money you have, you are speacial.

This week for reading we have been learning about Hakaria. A person that had been taken from his tribe to be educated and become christian. Then he came back in 1836 and became the leader of his tribe and land. We had to make predictions about the text that we read. For our create we had to make a cheat sheet for other people to use to know how to make a prediction. I did mine on Canva. Here it is. Do you know how to make a prediction? Kia ora, for the last couple of weeks we have been creating islands. We had to add different types of gems, minerals and rocks. We had the choice to add caves and mountains and forests. I chose to add mountains, caves and forests. I added my gems into my caves. When I found my island there was a big water hole in the middle and added turtles and dolphins. We had to add crops so that we could survive on the island. I had watermelons and pumpkins. I added some bees so that I could have some honey then I added some hives so they could live. Then I added some pandas and bamboo for them to eat. Here are some photos of my island. Have you ever made an island?
Kia Ora, this week for reading we have been learning about the tallest buildings ever made. We built the twin towers in mine craft because they where one of the tallest buildings in the world. We made a doc about the similarities between KVLY-TV mast and Burj Khalifa and differences between them. We also wrote down plans for what we wanted in our twin towers. Here is our doc

This week for reading we have been learning about renewable resources and non renewable resources. I made a poster about water and things we could do to keep it fresh and clean for everyone around the world. I hope you will listen to my poster and help us keep our water clean. Our reading goal for this week is to Identify several ideas, discuss the author’s stance or purpose, and understand relationships in the text. On my poster I also added lots of more information on it so make sure to read it. Here is my poster!

Kia Ora, this week for writing we had a task board with 5 different tasks on them. We had to choose 2 tasks to do and one of them that I did was a letter to my future self. I wrote 4 paragraphs about my hopes and dreams for my future and I will hopefully find this letter one day when I’m older and I will be able to laugh about the stuff I liked and wanted when I was 11. I wrote about what job I wanted, I wrote about my dogs, what I like and lots more! Here it is.

Kia Ora, this week for reading we where doing a reading task board with multiple tasks to do and we had to pick 3 tasks to do. One of them that I did was making a roller coaster and adding questions to answer. I made my roller coaster on a website and we got to choose what tracks to put on. I added mine onto a google drawing and connected the questions onto it. Here is my roller coaster.

Kia Ora, this week for reading we where reading a book called Antibiotic resistant.n It’s about viruses and antibiotics and how you shouldn’t take antibiotics when you don’t need it because antibiotics doesn’t fight off viruses. For one of out tasks we went onto a slide and wrote down what we think the book is about, notes that you have picked up during reading the text, and some things you have learnt about it.
